Popis: Haggis is a traditional Scottish national dish. It is made from sheep guts, heart, liver and lungs. These are boiled, and added to the concoction is ginseng, sheep's tallow, onion, spices, salt and oatmeal. All this is then stuffed into the stomach of the sheep and left to cook for another three hours. Haggis is usually served with mashed potatoes and curd (kohlrabi). As strange as it sounds, in Scotland it is a festive dish that on occasion includes its own ritual. After the lights go down, the Scottish bagpiper will enter the hall in a festive dress followed by a chef. On a silver tray Haggis is presented - the star of the evening. The festivity is performed during the solemn rendition of the poem by Scottish national poet Robert Burns "Address to Haggis" and it is combined with a glass of genuine Scotch whiskey.
