Popis: We recommend going to Cambodia for crunchy spiders. You can find them in Phnom Penh, but the traditional centre of this delicacy is to be found in the town of Skun, which lies on motorway 6 about 75 km from the capital. Eating spiders is a fairly new tradition. It has been said that it may be due to the poverty associated with the civil war and the government of the Khmer Rouge when there was a desperate lack of food. Anyway, this specialty has flourished and is now commonplace in some areas. The fried spider isn't too disgusting. It tastes like something between chicken and cod. If you really want to impress your friends here is a proven recipe: Spray the spiders with water before use. Then add it to a mixture of sodium glutamate, sugar and salt. Apply garlic into hot oil. At a high temperature, add the spiders and fry them together with the garlic until the legs are completely stiff and the belly swells. Then you can serve the spiders. It's worth noting, the most delicious part is the head containing white meat. Don't forget the butt, which along with the guts, can also contain excrement or spider eggs. Enjoy your meal!
