Descripcion foto: The Gypsy Synagogue was founded no later than 1613 by Šalamoun Salkid-Gypsy. This building burnt in the great fire of the Old Town in 1689, and was completely destroyed. It was rebuilt in 1701 but it burned down again in 1754, being rebuilt once more the following year. The Gypsy Synagogue was located in today's Bílkova Street 131-132 until May 6, 1906, when it was demolished as part of the rehabilitation of Josefova. In 1896, Franz Kafka had his bar mitzvah here.
