Description: Hůrka is an extinct Šumava settlement, about 7 km east of Železná Ruda. It was founded in 1732 by the owner of the glassworks Georg Christoph Abele. The place was also called Česká Huť. About 30 years later, a new glassworks was established nearby - Nová Hůrka. The original village was given the name Stará Hůrka (Althurkenthal).
