The memorial was the work of Harry Perkins, a World War II veteran, who with the assistance of then Senator Howard Cannon worked to secure the WWII tank, and with the aid of the local VFW and American Legion, the necessary funds were raised to cover the cost of shipping, the only stipulation asked of the community. The memorial was officially dedicated in 1969. In 2013, Dallin Lytle, a nephew of Perkins, and aided by the local VFW and community cleaned and repainted the tank as an Eagle Scout project. Made in America: The Lost City Museum is located one mile from the memorial. This museum was built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps to preserve the Native American heritage of the area before it was lost below the waves of Lake Mead. https://bit.ly/3E3kdMf Instructions: Take a photo similar to the one attached, with rider flag and motorcycle.
