Detailed description: ADRA has been helping in the Somali region for a long time. The region is traditionally pastoral, but the drought in 2017 caused huge damage - up to 2 million cattle deaths due to lack of water. As a result, self-reliant communities have become internally displaced people living in makeshift camps. These people subsequently suffer from lack of drinking water, as well as other related problems such as malnutrition. The poverty they have fallen into due to the death of their livestock does not allow them to meet the basic needs of their families. Following an agreement with the local communities, 10 wells have been repaired through their efforts as well and now serve thousands of people. Each well serves between 200 and 500 families, with special troughs that also allow watering for livestock. To ensure that the wells function for a long time, each well is managed by a five-member committee. This water resources committee is made up of two women and three men. Once trained, the commission looks after the condition of the wells and their protection.
